| PROGRAMS: | The Career and Technology Department offers many different classes that students can take so that they can help prepare themselves for the future. Students can also obtain industry level certifications. Classes that prepare students to take certification tests are BCIS II, for the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification; Cosmetology, for the state license certificate; and Computer Maintenance, for the A+ certification. These certifications can help students in the workforce. The MOS certification can also help students if they decide to continue their education. Students can also earn college credit while in high school thru the Advanced Technical Credit Program (ACT). Students who take content-enhanced Career & Technology courses for high school credit may also be eligible for college credit at many community and technical colleges in Texas. Another avenue that students have to earn college credit is by passing the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification Exam. |
