North Grammar Elementary is one of nine elementary schools in the Rio Grande City Consolidated Independent School District. It has existed in historic Rio Grande City, Texas since 1939. A fire in 2000 devastated the building but not the spirit of excellence. The students and staff moved in to a new facility in August of 2002 and have continued their excellence.

North Grammar Elementary provides a safe, nurturing and child centered environment in which our children can grow academically, socially and emotionally. We encourage our children to be individuals with initiative and creativity through their daily interaction in the classroom, as well as, through their participation in supplemental programs such as UIL, accelerated reading, student council and athletics. We take great pride in our competitive accomplishments. It is very common to find the hunter green uniforms leading the pack in a race or a game.

Staff members are dedicated and committed to the success of every child. Their professionalism is greatly acknowledged. With the help of our parents/guardians, through their continued involvement, collectively continue to provide the best to all our children.

North Grammar Elementary has received 8 recognized rating from TEA and in 2007-2008 it received its frist ever exemplary rating. Thank you everyone for making North Grammar Elementary simply the best.
