Veterans
Middle School OPENS its doors
|
(August,
2007) --As
the new year kicks off, the district finally unveils it's third
middle school to the community. The new edition, Veterans Middle
School, was named in honor of America's Bravest.
"First
of all it was named after all of the living and non-living veterans
who went to war for us," Superintendent, Roel Gonzalez,
said. "Secondly, we built a school that is very student-centered
from the colors to the architecture."
The
new addition will house over 800 students and will be the 13th
school to the RGCCISD family.
"Ringgold
Middle School had close to 1600 students and that's just too
many when you try to educate children. Middle school students
need a lot of attention. They need a lot of one-on-one focus,"
Gonzalez said." The board and myself felt we needed a new
middle school. So we built this school to be able to divide
Ringgold Middle into two."
From
the moment all 800 students walk into this facility it is truly
evident that this building is the definition of state of the
art.
