Only
5-A District to obtain Recognized District
|
(August,
2007) -- The Texas Education Agency (TEA) recently released reports
on the results of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills
(TAKS) test for the 2006-2007 school year.
Rio
Grande City CISD was announced as a “Recognized District”
and the only 5A district in the Rio Grande Valley to have earned
this status. The reports also indicate
that
the district was also only one out of four 5A districts throughout
the state of Texas to
have received this recognition.
"
The district as a whole is excited and elated with the student
performance on the TAKS. The results have shown that this accomplishment
has been a collaborative and continuous effort between students,
parents, teachers, board of trustees, administrators and staff,"
said Mr. Roel A. Gonzalez, Superintendent. "This achievement
although absolutely phenomenal doesn’t let us lose focus
of what needs to
be done to prepare for this coming school year.”
