2008 Superintendent of the Year for Texas

His nomination submitted by principals and
administrators in support of Gonzalez states, “His
dedicated leadership exemplifies the outstanding
qualities for which the award is given.....His undying
advocacy for all students is remarkable; and above
all, his humility of service merits this recognition.”
He and all other state finalists will be in
consideration for the final four finalists. These four
individuals will then be notified in December and
invited to Washington, D.C. in January to be
interviewed by the selection panel and ultimately
naming the 2008 National Superintendent of the Year.
