On behalf of the Roque Guerra, Jr. Elementary Staff, it is our sincere honor to work with your children. We urge you to become more involved than ever with your child's education. The most critical issue is attendance. Children who attend school regularly achieve more. Secondly, it is essential that your child read at home every single day. Be sure your child reads aloud to you so that you can assess strengths and provide support. Students who read a million words a year attain the highest scores on college entrance exams. A million words requres reading about 25 books a year. Please make reading a top priority in your home this year! Finally, let's keep in touch because close communication and a united effort are the best way to support our children's academic growth.

At Roque Guerra, Jr.Elementary our vision is for each child to feel valued, to be challenged academically, and to feel and be successful! Our children's top academic achievement is our highest priority. To achieve our vision the teachers, support staff and administration are fully committed to providing a top quality program. Further, we want to maximize our instructional opportunity with students by really encouraging excellent school attendance. We will step up perfect attendance recognition with fun and motivational monthly incentives. We will also have closer contact with parents when student "tardies" or absences surpass legal limits set by the State of Texas. We look forward to working with you toward the vision of top academic achievement.
