Congratulations to Veterans Middle School for earning the UIL District Champs title for the 5th year in a row! VMS has achieved the ultimate distinction of being Back to Back to Back to Back to Back UIL District Champs! VMS hosted the UIL District Meet on April 6, 2013 for students competing in UIL events from Roma, Rio Grande City, and La Grulla. UIL students and coaches from VMS spent countless hours of practice, dedication, and hard work in order to prepare for the annual UIL District Meet and retain the 1st Place trophy. Congratulations to these students, coaches, and their parents for their commitment and accomplishments at this event! Veterans Middle School – VMS Mariachi “Tradition of Excellence”
continues with their WINNING STREAK making it their 6th consecutive
1st place victory of the year!! Mariachi Juvenil de America attended
their 6th competition in San Diego, TX on Saturday, April 13th of 2013
where they competed against other 20 middle school groups from
around San Antonio, Laredo, Corpus Christi, and the Rio Grande Valley.Mariachi Juvenil de America captivated not just the audience but all three Judges with their impressive & passionate performance earning a Division I superior, best violins, best trumpets, best vocals, 1st placeaward in class 3C, and the Overall Grand Champion Award in
2C & 3C middle school as the highest scoring group of the competition!
VMS Mariachi keeps resonating and captivating others everywhere theygo with their love & passion for mariachi music, proving their motto:“Tradition of Excellence” multiple times! Congratulations to the mariachistudents, parents, school, and their director - Mr. Eloy Garza for a job welldone and for ALWAYS representing Veterans Middle School, our district,and our community in a very positive manner!
