J & O offers Activities
John & Olive Hinojosa Elementary
offered their students after school activities under the
guidance of staff members who volunteered their time once
a week from 3:35-5:00 p.m. The MVP activities offered to
students included: gardening, chess, folklorico dance, drama,
fitness, baseball, science club, book club, arts & crafts,
guitar, and sign language. Pictured above is Mr. Jorge E.
Pena (Principal) and the J & O Garden Club who grew
vegetables such as carrots, green beans, okra, corn, squash,
and our favorite Mexican herb, cilantro. Our students enjoyed
building their garden boxes and planting their vegetables.
Their experience in seeing the fruits of their labor was
eye opening. We would like to thank all of our students
who participated in the MVP activities and our awesome teachers
for volunteering their time and talent to a much worthy
cause. We look forward to continue to offer our students
experiences of a lifetime here at John & Olive Hinojosa
Elementary.
