RGCGISD CTE TEACHERS ATTEND TIVA CONFERENCE IN HOUSTON
On July 23, RGCGISD CTE teachers attend the Texas Industrial Vocational Association (TIVA) conference in Houston. TIVA Conferences specializes in training, mentoring and networking opportunities for teachers to assist in the professional growth of our students.

RGCGCISD CTE DEPARTMENT HOSTED A CELEBRATION AT STC FOR ALL RGCGISD STUDENTS WHO EARNED AN ASSOCIATES DEGREE
The RGCGISD Career and Technical Education Department hosted a celebration at South Texas College for all students who earned an associates degree or certificate in their CTE classes. Our students earned a stole to wear at their graduation, and were treated to a special guest speaker, Jonathan Medina, who spoke to the students about never giving up on their dreams and the goals they set for themselves. On behalf of Mr. Adolfo Pena Jr., Superintendent of Schools, CTE Director, Adelina Villarreal, and our School Board of Trustees, we would like to congratulate all of our SENSATIONAL CTE students on their amazing accomplishments this year! We are so proud of you!
Rio Grande City HS FFA held an FFA Olympics with games
As the 2021 - 2022 school year comes to a close the RGC FFA held an FFA Olympics with games and fun for the high school FFA members.
RGCHS COSMETOLOGY STUDENTS EARN EYELASH EXTENSION CERTIFICATION
On behalf of CTE Director, Mrs. Adelina Villarreal and all the RGCHS CTE Department, we would like to congratulate the CTE cosmetology students on earning an Eyelash Extension Certification. The students are under the direction of CTE Cosmetology teacher, Mrs. M. Limas. This a tremendous achievement, as it allows for doors to open for these students to obtain a career right after graduation. Congratulations to all!
Culinary Arts Club experience Texas de Brazil
On May 13, 2022, RGCHS Culinary Arts Club and RGCHS Culinary Arts Students partook on a Culinary experience to Texas de Brazil. Students got to savor different types of Brazilian meets, accompamiments, and desserts. Students got to use thier culinary arts learned lessons, such as table etiquiette, proper dressing and etc. Students had a great experience. Culinary Arts teacher and Head Sponsor Janette Garza would like to thank everyone who made this possible, especially to the Texas de Brazil staff who made this an incredible experience.
RGCHS CTE DEPARTMENT HOSTS CAREER FAIR
The RGCHS Career and Technology Department hosted a Career Fair on Thursday, May 19, at the Rio Grande City High School Gymnasium. Students were able to talk to professionals in their different fields, and learn about different career opportunities to help them prepare for their future. On behalf of Mr. Adolfo Pena Jr., Superintendent of Schools, and our School Board of Trustees, we would like to thank the RGCGISD Career and Technology Department for hosting such a successful event.

CTE Banquet
On Wedensday, April 27, 2022, CTE Director, Adelina Villarreal hosted the RGCHS CTE banquet. All CTE students were honored for their achievements and accomplishements. Students were give stoles with the name of the certification they have received under the CTE department. CTE Director, Adelina Villarreal provided a luncheon with a DJ and photo booth for the students and staff. RGCHS Cosmetology contrived a fashion show for the CTE students and staff.

RHS CTE participate in the Veterans Middle School Career Fair
Rio Grande City High School CTE participated in the Veterans Middle School Career Fair on Friday, April 22, 2022. Culinary Arts had a create your own cupcake to show students techniques in frosting and decorating their cupcakes. Small Engine Repair discussed parts of the engines, Cosmetology showed them how to polish thier nails, put eye lashes on, do their make-up and how to put extensions on. Law Enforcement showed students how to detain a person and handcuff them. Health Science showed students how to remove their gloves and how to use hand sanitizer to santize their hands. They also showed them how to take and read their blood pressure. ROTC spoke to the students about their program. Thank You VMS for the invitation!
CTE Road to Succes Celebration
CTE department celebrates students successes in their different competitions. CTE Director, Mrs. Adelina Vilarreal rewarded CTE students with a celebratory party to celebrate the students successes.
The accident investigation team from Rio Grande City High school brought the bronze medals & plaque home from their recent TXPSTA competition held at New Braunfels, Texas
The team is under the direction of Mr. Alberto Betancourt & Mr: Pedro Castillo both CTE law enforcement teachers from RHS . RGCGISD brought back a Gold , silver & bronze . They are ranked First , second & third in the entire state of Texas .
RGCHS CTE Law Enforcement wins state championship in traffic stop TXPSTA at New Braunfels, TX
Liana Rios beat out the best in Texas in law enforcement enactment of traffic staff. She is a Career & Technical Education student under the direction of Mr. Alberto Betancourt. On behalf of the school board administration, Mr. Adolfo Peña, superintendent and the CTE immediate administration and Mr. Jorge Peña, RHS principal we want to extend our congratulations!
